Bar & Bat Mitzvah BBQ Catering, Done Live

A festive rooftop bar mitzvah spread at dusk — a board of sliced steak, skewers and salads with guests mingling under string lights in Tel Aviv

TL;DR

On-site BBQ catering for a bar or bat mitzvah puts a live grill at the heart of the party: premium cuts cooked in front of your guests, plus skewers, sausages, fresh breads and salads the kids actually eat. It works indoors or out across Tel Aviv and Gush Dan, can be kosher on request, and is ₪260 per guest all-inclusive with a ₪6,000 event minimum.

What does a live BBQ bar or bat mitzvah look like?

Instead of trays carried out from a hidden kitchen, the grill is right there in the room — the centerpiece of the party. A grill chef cooks premium cuts to order while guests gather around the fire, and the smell of the coals does half the work of setting the mood.

The food comes out in waves: steaks and skewers off the flame, fresh breads, house salads and sauces on the table. Kids drift over to watch the fire; the adults get a glass in hand and a cut cooked exactly how they asked. It feels less like catering and more like the best backyard party your family has ever thrown.

Why does an on-site grill work so well for a bar or bat mitzvah?

Because it solves the two hardest parts of a mixed-age celebration at once. The kids stay happy — there are simple crowd-pleasers (skewers, sausages, fresh pita) coming off the grill the whole time, not a single sit-down course they have to wait for. And the adults get a genuinely premium meal, grilled live rather than reheated.

It also gives the day a built-in show. The fire is the entertainment, the chef is part of the event, and the food is the thing guests photograph and remember. For a milestone you only celebrate once, that word-of-mouth moment is worth as much as the meal itself.

Can a bar or bat mitzvah BBQ be kosher?

Yes — kosher is available on request, and it is worth raising at the very start so we plan around it. We source premium cuts from certified kosher butchers, and we can match the level of certification you need, from Rabbanut up to stricter Badatz / Mehadrin standards.

Where your event calls for it, a mashgiach can be arranged to oversee the food on-site. We will be straight with you about what is and isn't possible for your date and venue rather than promising a blanket 'glatt' label — tell us the standard your family keeps and we'll build the menu to it.

How many guests, and what does it cost?

On-site BBQ catering is ₪260 per guest, all-inclusive (cuts, sides, drinks, setup, service and cleanup), with a ₪6,000 event minimum — so a smaller bar or bat mitzvah starts at ₪6,000 (around 23 guests). The rate is flat; the bigger the group, the more that minimum simply spreads out.

Premium cuts (entrecôte, picanha, tomahawk) add a little per guest if you choose several. The cleanest way to see your own number is the event builder on our homepage — set your guest count and cuts and the price updates live, no form and no waiting. (Just a couple? A private fire dinner is a separate service, from ₪1,900.)

Where can you host it?

Rooftops, gardens, private homes and event spaces all work — we bring the portable grills, prep stations, serving boards and dishware, and adapt the setup to your space (indoors, ventilation is the main thing we plan around). We cover Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Herzliya and the wider Gush Dan area.

On the day, the crew arrives about 90 minutes ahead to set up, cooks and serves live through the event, and handles the full cleanup — so the family can actually be guests at their own celebration.

How far ahead should you book, and how?

Spring through mid-summer (roughly April to July) is peak event season in Israel, and good dates book up — a few weeks' notice is ideal, more if your date is fixed. Build your event in the calculator, send it on WhatsApp, and we reply with a fixed quote, usually within the hour. A 50% deposit confirms your date and the balance is due the morning of the event.

Frequently asked

Can the food be kosher?

Yes, on request. We source from certified kosher butchers and can match the level you need (Rabbanut up to Badatz / Mehadrin), and a mashgiach can be arranged on-site where required. Tell us the standard your family keeps when you book.

Will there be food the kids actually eat?

Yes — alongside the premium cuts there are skewers, sausages, fresh breads and salads coming off the grill throughout, so younger guests have simple favorites the whole time.

What is the minimum number of guests?

Events have a ₪6,000 minimum, all-inclusive — roughly a 23-guest event at ₪260 per guest. For just a couple, a private fire dinner is a separate service from ₪1,900.

Can it be done indoors?

Yes — rooftops, gardens, homes and halls all work. Indoors we plan the grill setup around ventilation; tell us the venue and we'll confirm what's possible.

How early should I book?

April to July is peak season and books up, so a few weeks ahead is ideal. A 50% deposit holds your date.
